New 2026 Manitoba Adventure Dog duo chosen to explore pet-friendly destinations across the province
Winnipeg, Manitoba – November 27, 2025 – Travel Manitoba has chosen a new dynamic dog duo to represent the growing number of Manitobans who include their pets in their travels, naming pups Baylor and Brewer as the 2026 Manitoba Adventure Dogs.
Baylor, a four-year-old Husky/Akita cross, and Brewer, a three-year-old Golden Lab, live with their owners Mikayla Rybuck and Hunter Quiring just outside of Winnipeg. Mikayla threw their collars into the ring earlier this month by sharing photos and videos of their furry sidekicks exploring the province on social media, using the hashtag #MBAdventureDog2026.
After reviewing dozens of submissions featuring adventurous pets and their travels across Manitoba, judges—including champion running back and dog rescue activist Brady Oliveira—chose a pair of pooches instead of just one top dog for the second year in a row.
“We were so impressed with all of the fantastic entries in this year’s contest. It’s great to see how many Manitobans include their dogs in their outdoor adventures around the province,” said Allison Dalke, Marketing Team Lead at Travel Manitoba. “Baylor and Brewer are not only adorable, they are already used to going out on excursions and clearly enjoy it! We’re looking forward to helping them and their favourite humans embark on more pet-friendly adventures together across Manitoba over the next year.”
As Manitoba’s 2026 Adventure Dogs, Baylor and Brewer will receive a prize package that includes gift cards for Cabela’s and The Forks, a two-night stay at The Rosé Beach House in Winnipeg Beach, Manitoba merch and the opportunity to be featured on Travel Manitoba’s website and social channels.
Baylor is a fearless leader who loves to play in the snow, while Brewer is loyal, protective and the first to leap into a lake. Together they have explored the province from east to west, Rybuck shared in their winning entry.
“It’s such an honour to be able to represent the province we already spend so much time discovering. Manitoba is an incredible place to adventure with dogs,” Rybyck said after learning Baylor and Brewer had fetched the coveted 2026 title.
“Baylor and Brewer have grown up exploring every corner of Manitoba. They know the trails, the lakes, the beaches, the forests – and they know how to adapt to all four seasons and all kinds of terrain,” Rybuck added. “These two remind us daily that Manitoba’s wild spaces are worth exploring, respecting and celebrating.”
In addition to the 2026 Manitoba Adventure Dog grand prize winner, Travel Manitoba has named two runners-up that will receive prize packages including gift cards to help them continue to explore the province. Both pups also demonstrated exceptional passion for adventure through their entries:
Arthur, a sweet six-year-old border collie/husky mix with a big heart and endless energy, whose adventures have included everything from paddleboarding and snowshoeing to chasing the northern lights, came in second place.
Arlo, a two-year-old red Doberman from Winnipeg with floppy ears, a long expressive tail and a fearless-but-goofy personality, came in third.
